About Us

At 8 years old on April 3rd 1974 an EF4 damaged our community like many others that day. I set in awl at this spinning cloud of destruction a few hundred feet from the 1969 orange Dodge Supper Bee that was our only protection at the moment as we tried to make it to our neighbors basement. At that moment I realized the importance of being prepared. Luck was on our side as the twister peppered our car with mud and debris traveling on to destroy the next community Mannsville Kentucky. The above photo is of Mr. and Mrs. Myers, another neighbor, after the car they were trying to flee in turned over in there drive. I with my back to the camera am very interested as you can see. Account of Paul Gabehart, Owner of Kentucky Storm Shelters

Kentucky Storm Shelters started as a side line at my awards and engraving shop "Visions Glass Etching" in 2010 after needing a shelter there for my customers and I.  Seeing how nice the fiberglass shelters were, with no one in the area carrying anything near as nice, I tried my hand at selling them with a goal of 4 or 5 a year.  This quickly became a full time job and has grown from a 5 shelter goal to installing more than 70 units in 2012.  As with my engraving business  which I sold after having a store front business for almost 18 years, I have put the customers needs and wants in front of the desire to sell a product for profit alone.  You won't find high pressure here or someone trying to talk you into something you don't need. All you will find here is a small business with one goal when it comes to customers...Make them smile!  Thank you for taking the time to look over our website, feel free to contact me with any questions and have a very nice day.  Paul Gabehart - Owner
